The morning after the ConEdison transformer blew up across the street from my apartment in Alphabet City, I grabbed a power strip, two cameras and some rechargeable batteries then wandered Lower Manhattan. For the next 10 days, I documented what I saw, charging from generators, sharing my power strip and helping out where I could.
SANDY chronicles my days and nights shooting the blackout caused by Superstorm Sandy. All original proceeds in 2012 went to the Red Cross and Occupy Sandy. With the last few copies left in its second edition, proceeds will go towards Occupy Sandy as they are the ones who showed a real presence and are still helping Sandy victims in 2017.
